About Steve Lau, CFP

I obtained my first degree in Economics from Monash University in 1989 and later passed my MBA course with high honors from Oklahoma City University, USA in 1995.

Having worked for 15 years at senior management level before joining the financial planning industry, I understand the challenges and aspirations of entrepreneurs and professionals.

Since 2003, I have been advising mainly high-net-worth individuals on their wealth management and succession planning needs. My passion for retirement and legacy planning has helped many clients to put in place a well-structured, tax efficient and worry-free plan for their families.

My hands-on approach in developing holistic solutions for these clients have created a live-long relationship built on trust and professionalism.

In 2019, I was invited to speak on the subject of Professional Ethics and Best Practices at the annual FPAM Financial Planning Symposium and the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) Annual Conference.

I am a five times member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) having qualified for the Court of the Table (COT) membership in year 2020 and 2021.

Besides my financial advisory practice, I have been an active member of the Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja since 2002. I have served five terms as a board member and currently serving as a management committee of the Club’s Charity Foundation.
